ICC Men’s T20 World Cup postponed to 2021

The T20 World Cup 2020 has been postponed to 2021 by ICC. This year’s competition scheduled to take place in Australia from October 18 to November 15. However, the coronavirus cost doubt on the tournament the ICC announced in a statement on Monday that postponed till 2021.

The International Cricket Council ( ICC) announced that this year’s ICC Men’s T20 World Cup wouldn’t happen. The international cricket governing body decided to postpone the global event during the IBC Board meeting.

The T20 World Cup expected to begin next year in October, with the final scheduled for November 14.

India was supposed to host the event in 2021, but that competition was also postponed by one year and will begin in October 2022, the final held on November 13, 2022.

The 50-over World Cup, which had been penciled in India for February 9 to March 26, 2023, will now start in October to conclude with a final on November 26 to allow for a more extended qualifying period.

The board members have agreed on the windows to organize the next three men ‘s global cricket events according to a media release by the ICC.

The 2021 T20 Men’s ICC World Cup will take place from October to November 2021 with the final on November 14, 2021.

The 2022 T20 Men’s ICC World Cup will take place from October to November 2022 with the final on November 13, 2022.

ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 will take place in India from October to November 2023.

ICC Men’s T20 World Cup scheduled for 2021 and 2022

Australia and India scheduled to host the 2020 and 2021 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup tournaments, respectively. India is also the host for the 2023 Cricket World Cup. ICC’s press release states that India will host this particular event according to the original schedule, but the two T20 World Cup hosts are not yet determined.

The windows have confirmed for the two events with BCCI and CA holding the hosting rights.

ICC has reported that if Australia hosts it in 2021, the fans who purchased the tickets for the 2020 T20 World Cup will still attend the game. Yet if Australia hosts the event in 2022, the fans would have to return their tickets and file refund requests.
